“Brother David Tyson, Jr. was initiated into the Beta Sigma Chapter in 1973, and is currently a member of the Xi Tau Lambda Chapter in North Dallas County, TX. He was the first person of color elected to the Richardson ISD School Board, serving Richardson, TX and North Dallas, TX. Brother Tyson served on the RISD School Board from 2004 to 2010. He paved the way for the first Black female, elected in 2019 and the first Hispanic elected in 2020. Today, we recognize Brother David Tyson, Jr. for making history with this extraordinary achievement.”
